Basement Blues (No More!)

Allen and Bethany’s basement redesign is complete! And really my favorite part about the whole experience is that it basically prompted a crash course in fast friendship. All that time emailing back and forth, being transparent with ideas, giving and receiving feedback and developing trust – as an introvert who takes a solid year to get to know anyone this was definitely a bonus. Wait, did I just describe transactional as my preferred method of friendship…

The Console: Part 2 ("And I'm Back in the Game!")

I worked it out! The hand-wringing and emotional duress can now cease because this cliffhanger is over.

A quick review: I built the cabinet easy peasy, had the doors cut at Lowes, primed and painted it all, then fumbled miserably attempting to attach the doors (or just read this if you haven't already).

The Console: Part 1 (The Bad News)

Some projects are effortless. A flurry of ideas swiftly edited into a tight vision, executed on budget, within a succinct time-table. Specifically, as this relates to DIY projects, for this to occur one must realistically acknowledge one's own DIY abilities and limitations. This is the moment where I must hang my head and admit I will most-likely forever fail in this regard.
