A Primary Bedroom Fit for a Grown-up Bohemian

Hooray! I'm finally getting my act together and posting the completed Bohemian Meets Luxe Master Bedroom Makeover. I decided to split the bedroom and bathroom into two posts because there are just too many good photos (thanks, Bethany!). So check back in a few days for the finished bathroom.

But for now, here's a refresher on how the bedroom started out:

Modern Colonial Dining Room Reveal

Ok, let's acknowledge the obvious. I have a thing for green dining rooms, I guess.

A few weeks back I revealed Katy and Josh's completed entryway. Just as with their entry, Katy's affinity for traditional design coupled with a healthy dose of lighthearted joviality steered the overall direction for the dining room. This room wasn't actually part of the original scope of the project, but as I worked on the adjacent entryway I naturally started to form ideas on how we could easily refresh this space too.

Modern Colonial Entryway Reveal

Oh hi! This post is long overdue!

Earlier this year Katy approached me about helping with her new home. She, with her husband Josh and their two young daughters, had recently relocated back to Omaha, purchasing and settling into their house just in time for the birth of their newest family members, twin girls! After a welcomed adjustment period, she was itching for the chance to tackle some projects and start making their house feel like home.

Making the Most of a Bad Rental Bathroom Part II

Though I started working on our upstairs bathroom almost four years ago, it took this long to post about it because I still have so many hangups about where it's at. I mean, it's not great; even the after leaves a lot to be desired. But as a renter, it's just part of the deal – learning to reimagine some shortcomings (and, more realistically, ignore the permanent ones). For a more complete breakdown of our bathroom's specific eyesores check out Part I here.

And here's how it looks now!

Tonally Traditional Family Room – A Multi-Use Room Goes Cozy and Cool in Layered Shades of Blue, Grey, and Green

A new client project reveal feels like a nice way to jump back into blogging! You may recall I set the stage for this makeover back in November, but then I got greedy and didn't want it drowned out in all the holiday frenzy.

This one's a slight departure from my typical bold color, multi-pattern, quirky vintage MO (don't worry, it's still there, just in more measured doses). Even so, it

A Classic Craftsman Living Room Gets a Grown-Up Bohemian Makeover

After months of casually keeping one eye open for a new and better house, Darby and Andrew decided to stop the search and instead re-fall in love with their current home. Once they'd committed to stay it was time to make their charming craftsman finally reflect the dynamic personalities of the residents within.

This is where I joined the party.

Basement Blues (No More!)

Allen and Bethany’s basement redesign is complete! And really my favorite part about the whole experience is that it basically prompted a crash course in fast friendship. All that time emailing back and forth, being transparent with ideas, giving and receiving feedback and developing trust – as an introvert who takes a solid year to get to know anyone this was definitely a bonus. Wait, did I just describe transactional as my preferred method of friendship…
